BF6 Gamers Concur: Challenges Are Way Too Hard

The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Gamers have begun turning to personalized games set up using the Portal feature to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these assignments have become.

Understanding Battlefield 6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. It features four categories of assignments, but although many only reward cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one key firearms found within the game.

Several of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash on Reddit

Within Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy some of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This task is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which is seldom the location you prefer to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

A different forum member highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles

This is challenging enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

However, when doing the challenges in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.

Currently, the community continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
